Relax, De-Stress and Soothe Your Mind

Turkey is really a good choice for people who love nature and untouched beauties. The forested mountains, the impressive valleys and everything that nature can offer, are in front of you in Turkey.

Cappadocia, of course is a must for every kind of visitor with its incredible natural formations, and for having hidden a great ancient civilization.

Ancient Lycia in the southwest of Turkey, provides a great opportunity to discover the country’s flora and fauna.

If you are a nature-lover, especially interested in birdwatching, Istanbul, Bursa, Lake Manyas, Bandirma, Aladaglar all offer you the best chances to study birds and their migrations.

If you like nature and sports together then you have some good opportunities. The clear, warm waters of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas are perfect for water-skiing, windsurfing, skin or scuba diving. The main resorts on that coast, such as Marmaris, Cesme, Kusadasi, Antalya, Alanya and Side, offer complete facilities for these sports.

The best places for a nature-lover to visit, are of course the national parks which provide all opportunities of a “natural” holiday; birdwatching, camping, fishing, walking, and anything you can think of about enjoying nature. Some of these parks are Uludag near Bursa, Bird Paradise (Kus Cenneti) near Balikesir, Mount Spil near Manisa, Munzur Valley near Tunceli, Soguksu near Ankara, Seven Lakes (Yedigoller) near Bolu, and Mount llgaz near Kastamonu.

On the other hand Eastern Turkey offers plenty of possibilities for mountaineering, both for experts and amateurs. Mount Suphan (4434 m) near Bitlis, Mount Ararat (Agri) (5165 m), the highest mountain of Turkey, are challenges to the experienced mountaineer. Mount Hasan (3250 m) in the south of Nigde, and the Kackar Mountains (4000 m) between Rize and Hopa, are more suitable for amateurs.
